TheWanderingWomb seeks to create work whilst transforming spaces into places where personal experience meets something older and shared. Influenced by the work of Carl Jung, TheWanderingWomb uses the medium and discipline to follow the idea as it shifts and flows through form. Materials become languages or exploring inner landscapes such as trauma, memory and transformation. This is influenced predominantly by lived experience. The studio, wherever that may be, becomes a site in which the dialogue between the conscious and the unseen becomes loud. Images and forms emerge through intuitive processes; layering, repetition and fragmentation, which mirror the complex and non-linear structure of the human psyche, which we all have in common. This allows the artwork of TheWanderingWomb to stand as an attempt to mark these moments where the inner world becomes briefly visible and collective.
